Meet Patty Brisben
Founder & Chairwoman

In 1993, Patty started Pure Romance in the basement of her suburban Ohio home. In those days, she did it all. Her hard work paid off, as over the next three decades, Pure Romance grew into what she had always dreamed it would be: A place where women could take control of their financial futures and inspire the people in their lives.

  • Shadow a Party
    • Shadowing a party is an important practice that every Consultant should participate in. Whether you’re a new Consultant just starting out, or a seasoned Consultant who’s been in the business for years, shadowing other Consultants will help keep your party presentation fresh. Shadowing in-person is best, but party videos and virtual party presentations are also great ways to gain insight into other Consultants’ party demos. Make sure to use the Party Shadow Sheet as a resource to guide you through the party. 
    • Not sure who to shadow? Ask the person who referred you, another member of the Pure Romance community, or reach out to us! Our sales team can help you connect with a Consultant in your area. 
  • Stay Connected

Get Set Up

  • Complete the New Consultant Wizard to set up your account. This important step only appears when logging into the Consultant Online Office for the first time and is what allows you to place orders. Need help? Watch this video. 
  • Confirm My Information is correct on your Consultant Online Office. It’s important to update or complete the following: 1) Contact Information, 2) Government Information, 3) My Website. (Then copy your Personal Website link & start sharing!) 
  • Activate your Consultant Account. On the left side, tap the red prompt, “Click here to setup your Consultant Account”.  Need help? Watch this video. 
  • Customize Your Personal Website including: 1) Phone Number, 2) About Me, 3) Featured Products. Need help? Watch this video. 
  • Open a bank account. A separate bank account allows you to keep personal and business transactions separated and provides a clean record of your finances to make tax season a breeze. This account does not have to be a “business account” by the bank’s definition. It can be a personal account that you simply use for your business transactions.  
  • Download PureShop. This point of sale app is a one-stop shop for your business and party needs. (Currently available in US only.) 

Pro Academy

One great perk you get as a Pure Romance Consultant is the ability to enhance your sexual health knowledge with our certification program. After you complete it, you will have the confidence to say you are a Certified Sexual Health Consultant! Having a certification behind your business helps you be more confident at your parties, or in a one-on-one shopping experience, talking about the importance of sexual health.  Not only that, but the certification process helps you understand the psychology of selling which gives you the best start to your new business.

Pro Academy is included in the Pro Pack to start your certification right away. If you chose the QuickStart Pack, head over to your Online Office and purchase this under Business Supplies. All Consultants must complete Pro Academy and will get a printed certificate mailed to you after you complete it!

Pure Romance Pay

Be in control of how you get paid – with Pure Romance Pay.

After receiving your very first website order, you’ll be asked to activate your Pure Romance Pay account to receive your monthly commissions, bonuses, and other payments from the Pure Romance corporate office.

From desktop to laptop, tablet to smartphone, your Pure Romance Pay Portal makes accessing your payments easy wherever you are. Get paid weekly, plus transfer your funds directly to your bank or PayPal account.

Announce Your Business

When telling others about your business, we recommend starting big and announcing it to your whole social circle, then reaching out to others individually who’ve expressed interest in what you’re doing. There are many ways to go about sharing your news. We’ve outlined a few of them below. 

Note: Remember that the message examples throughout this section are just that – examples! When you’re texting, posting, or talking with others, you want it to flow like a conversation, not a sales pitch, automated message, or script.  

Your style and personality are what make your business unique – so be you! 

Post On Social Media

A great way to make your announcement on social media is to think about it in three steps: Teaser, Preview, and Announcement.

When posting, pick the platform where you have the most followers and friends, so you can be confident your posts will be seen! 

  1. With the Teaser, you want to make your social circle curious about what you’re going to announce. Below are a few examples of what your teaser post could say:

Just did something fun and totally different for me! Can’t wait to share! 

I just started a new adventure! Announcement coming soon! 

Really excited about a new opportunity I’ve jumped into! More soon!

Add a cute selfie to your post, and if you have your business pack, share that and make sure to hashtag us on social! #pureromance

2. The Preview is your chance to entice your followers and get them ready for the big reveal. Make sure to hide any product names or Pure Romance indicators from your post.

  1. The Announcement is just that – your reveal! We suggest going Live for your big moment. It’s a great time to talk about what excites you the most about starting your Pure Romance business, and why you decided to take the leap. Try to keep this simple and laid back. Talk honestly about your motivation and goals, and take the moment to highlight a few products and encourage your circle to message you for your website or party info! 

During your Announcement, make sure to ask who wants to be invited to your Launch Party. You can also offer an incentive for anyone who wants to host a party with you within the next two weeks!

Make sure to reach out to anyone who interacted with your posts. Connecting individually is the key to success and building your community. Here’s an example of what you can say:  

Thanks for supporting my announcement! Will you join me at my Launch party? I’d love for you to be there!

If yes: share you’re excited to introduce them to Pure Romance and add them to your guest list so you can stay in touch leading up to the party.

If no/not available: 

Well you know, after the party is the after-party! I’m hosting a second, Encore Party, for anyone who can’t make it to my Launch party on [insert date]. Could you make it to that?

If still no/not available: 

No worries! The best part is that you can always shop with me 24/7 at [insert your website]. I would love to be your Pure Romance Consultant whenever you need, or want, anything!

Text Your Inner Circle

Your friends and family are your biggest fans, and they want you to succeed! Text everyone 18 and older and let them know you’ve started a new business and ask for their support. Rather than sending an unsolicited link, make sure to get their permission first. 

Lead with gratitude in your messaging. We recommend following the verbiage below (but don’t forget to add your personality to it!)

    Share what you’re doing and see if they’re interested in learning more.

Pick up the Phone

Another great way to spread the news is to call those you think might be interested. Reach out to others and tell them about Pure Romance and the opportunities ahead for you! 

Hey {Name}, this is {your name}! How have you been?

I’m also doing well. Actually, I am so excited I just started a new business! I wanted to reach out to my friends, and you are one of the first ones I thought of. Have you ever tried Pure Romance products before?

This is a great way to start building your network and to practice talking about Pure Romance!

Create Your Community

It’s time to start building your network with your Who Do You Know List. This is a great way to look at your social circles and begin to find those who might be interested in your new business. As you build up your group, and your circle widens, use the Lead Connection Form to organize your new contacts. This will help you keep track of when and where you first met members of your circle so you can better serve them with your Pure Romance business. 

From there, you can start setting up your Facebook Group, where you can invite your 18+ female-identifying friends to join you. This will allow you to reach out to your entire customer community at once and create a special place just for them. You can also do this creating a “Close Friends” group on Instagram or Snapchat! Social media is one of the best ways to market your business, widen your circle, and connect with others, so building this group will be essential to building your business. 

The Facebook Group will become your VIP Group – a community for your most loyal followers, where you can chat, post about sales and product launches, share health and wellness information, and, of course, maybe a meme or two.

Follow the steps below (or check out this video) to set up your group on Facebook: 

  1. Log in to Facebook  
  2. Select “Groups”  
  3. “Create New Group”  
  4. “Group Name”
    • Example group name: {Name}’s VIP Group 
  5. Choose “Privacy” and set group to “Private”  
  6. Make sure the group is set to “Visible,” not “Hidden”
    • This will allow people to search for, and find, your VIP Group 
  7. Add a cover photo
    • Between your professional photo and Cover Photo, your Business Page should radiate Pure Romance!
  8. Add a description.

Hi Ladies! This is our private group exclusively for friends, customers, and incredible human beings. The fact that this is a private group means others can’t see what we discuss and it allows me to share sexual health and product info directly with you in a comfortable environment. A little bit about me: I am… 

  1. Invite your friends – send out personal messages to friends, inviting them to your group. Consider inviting 10-20 people a day
  1. Build a posting schedule for your VIP Group. Posting consistently will help build your community and encourage interaction between the members of your group

A great way to extend your social circle beyond your current customers is to just share it with your network! Make a post like this on your personal Facebook page:  

Ladies 18+, I have a private group where we discuss relationships, self care tips, play games, and share crazy memes. Drop a comment for an add!  

Your main goal when getting started is to develop your network and build your following in your VIP group and other social media platforms. Just remember to ask everyone you meet! You never know who might be interested in having a party, ordering product, or wanting to start their own Pure Romance business. 

Time to Party

Parties are the heart of Pure Romance. They’re a fun way for you to meet customers, future hostesses, and potential referrals. Parties equal profits. To help promote your new business and get your friends excited to party, start by having a few of them over to open up your new business pack with you!


Your Unboxing celebration is a fun way to promote your new business to your closest friends! We recommend having 2-3 girls over and just have fun! Start by opening your new business pack and dig in! If you’re planning to use these items for party demos, feel free to open the boxes, spray the scents, and learn about the products! If you don’t plan on using the products as demo items, and plan to sell them, make sure to leave the plastic wrap on the products!

As you get started with your new business, your initial planning should include three parties: Launch, Encore, and Bestie.  
Pro tip – Select a date for your Launch Party before your friends come over for the Unboxing event. This helps keep your new business excitement rolling and gives your friends enough time to plan on coming! 

Launch Party

Your Launch Party – the kick-off of your new business. Most Consultants aim to throw their Launch Party in their first few weeks in business, followed by a prescheduled Encore Party about a week later. 

The date for your Launch Party is set and you are ready to get your party on…now all you have to do is invite your friends!

  1. Send Invitations
    • Just like any party, invite your friends via invitations. Whether it’s through Facebook, email, snail mail, or text
    • For best results, use multiple methods to invite each guest
    • You can create your own invite, or use professionally designed assets from the Media Library. 
  2. Make Phone Calls
    • Call people on your Who Do You Know List until you have at least 10 confirmed guests.
    • Over-invite. Not everyone will be able to attend and that’s okay, so, multiply your attendance goal by 2 or 3 to find out how many people to invite
    • Not sure what to say? Try this:
      • Hey [Name] it’s [your name]. You won’t believe what I just did! I started my own Pure Romance business. To celebrate, I’m throwing a launch party on [date] at [time]. I would love to introduce you to Pure Romance. Where should I send your invitation? 
  1. Have friends who can’t attend the party?
    • Send the link to your website
      • We’ll miss you, [Name]! I’m always open for business (include a link to your website). Thank you for supporting my new business! 
    • Invite them to your Encore Party
      • Well you know, after the party is the after-party! I’m hosting a second, Encore Party, on [insert date] for anyone who can’t make it to my Launch party. Could you make it to that? 
    • Ask if they want to host a party
      • You’re going to miss a fun party! I would love the opportunity to spoil you with free products and discounts at your own party. I have [insert date] and [insert second date] available for you. Which date works best with your schedule? 

During your Launch Party, you’ll play both hostess and Consultant while showing your friends and family what Pure Romance is all about.
For the Launch Party you can:

  • Hold the party at your place or a friend’s  
  • Show off and share your favorite products 
  • Make connections for future bookings  

Plus, your Launch Party is the perfect opportunity to make a few sales and be on your way to getting your first orders! This is a great opportunity to practice your demo, get familiar with the products, and start filling your party calendar!

When offering the opportunity to host a party with you, here’s what you can say:

I want to thank you all for being so much fun and helping me celebrate the launch of my Pure Romance business. I hope you all had as much fun as I did tonight! The best part is I get to throw fun parties for women, share tips and products for improving and enhancing their wellness, and give away free products. My hostesses earn discounts and freebies just for having a party! I’d love to spoil you with your very own shopping spree when you host a party of your own. Who’s in for some fun and freebies?

Encore Party 

Now let’s talk about your Encore Party – your follow-up party for those who couldn’t make the Launch Party. Your Encore Party will be just like your Launch Party only this time, you will be a little more confident having already completed your very first party! 

  • Build on what you’ve learned from your Launch Party 
  • Book a party during this party!

Pro Tip: Schedule your Encore Party at a different time of the week than your Launch Party. If your Launch was on a weekend, try scheduling your Encore on a weekday to work with different guests’ schedules. 

Bestie Party 

Your Bestie Party is going to be the first party you throw where you’re not the hostess. The goal is to have your bestie or another guest that attended your Launch or Encore Party throw their own party, as an easy transition for you to party with hostesses. It’s okay to let the guests know that you are new and learning. The party flow of your Bestie Party will be very similar to a typical party.

  • Similar to your Launch and Encore Party, only now you’re working with your hostess to invite guests and build excitement 
  • Your hostess will have fun, connect with others, and earn Free Product with her hostess credit  
  • Great time to meet ladies outside of your current social circle and build your network!

Before you throw your Bestie Party, be sure to take a look at your Party Guide. 

Calculating Hostess Credit 

When working with a hostess, she earns a discount for hosting: 10% of total party sales to go towards her own shopping. 

  • Add up all the retail sales, minus any discounts, from the guests’ orders to find your total sales 
  • Find 10% by multiplying the total sales amount by .10 to get your hostess credit
    • Example: 
      Party Totals: $600 Party Sales  
      Multiply: $600 x .10 = $60  
      Hostess Credit: $60 

If you can’t find a hostess, that’s okay! You should throw your own virtual or in-person party at least once a month. You can also reach out to other entrepreneurs for a party swap. That means, you host a party for them and they host a party for you – instant connections for you both! Also, you can gain a full understanding of our hostess incentives by tapping here!
